Saena Iulia: Learning Italian
The best way to learn a new language is through total immersion while living in a particular country and experiencing its food and culture. If you are thinking of visiting the Siena area why not take a language course while you're here. There are several language schools in the city. One that I can highly recommend is Saena Iulia.
The school is located right next to Siena Cathedral. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Classes are genuinely small and the teachers are all excellent.
Courses are given at several levels, from beginners to those with a good knowledge of spoken and written Italian. You can take anything from a one week course to a full month. And while a course consists of four hours every morning, this can be combined with individual lessons in the afternoon.
In the afternoons Saena Iulia also offers a variety of cultural activities such as lectures on opera, literature and Italian history, plus weekly outings by coach.
